everything has gone to the publishers now. Also to a couple of other places and with the Frankfurt book fair coming up, will be talked about over in Europe. I'm totally not bothered by any of that. nope.

Nothing more to do before the TAI and Gym Class shows so I'm going to keep myself occupied by sorting out the tiny mountain of street team stuff in my room and going to buy some really important stuff to stop my computer dying, like a new hard drive Blender and some new shoes.

There are many things I should be doing with my day: writing, moving commas form one place to another and shifting things from first to third person, but before I do any of those I am going to stick The Quilt on my IPod (Sorry Travis! I will buy it on Monday anyway, but I wanted an extra week to listen before your shows), go and get my hair dyed black and buy a new lightshade because I honestly can't deal with this one a second longer.

seriously, it's driving me insane. I woke up at 3am, consumed with loathing for it.

and that's probably one of the reasons why I'm unsuited to a 9-5 office job. I bet there are no accountants at work today who were kept up by their light fittings.

Pretty. Odd.
I have only just noticed, thanks to today's Danielewski-esque XKCD, that IHOP stands for International House of Pancakes. I did not know this before. I'd heard of both of them but never made the connection. This may be in part due to the fact that we do not have IHOP in the UK, which in my mind doesn't make it very international.

debating whether I can swing an American work visa under the Athletes, Artists and Entertainers Extraordinary Ability sub category. I have many extraordinary abilities, some of which clearly need to be inflicted on the unsuspecting US population.

Having had this morning's hair appointment cancelled due to my stylist being inconsiderately ill has made me ponder the kitchen scissors. I did want it to look choppy and DIY.....

I was supposed to be taking it easy this weekend, I've been working far too hard this week and I needed some sleep. So of course when a couple of the girls I modelled with last week texted to summon me to the Cockpit, I simply told them 'no'.

ahaha yeah right. The Cockpit on a friday hasn't changed since I first set foot in there aged 14: perilously cheap, syrupy double vodka cokes, pretentious indieindieindie music (did I dance to Pulp? I think I did) and loads of beautiful yet annoying boys.

I spent the night hiding from people who'd said they weren't going to be there, dancing on the stage to the Ting Tings (see aforementioned cheap vodka) then kissed a boy with perfect hair and ran away under the railway bridges laughing and yelling 'call me when you're sober' over my shoulder at him. I also got offered a job tending bar at a gay bar which I have to do because it sounds awesome

all in all it was a fairly low-key night.

I get my last edit on Monday. then it's publishers on Tuesday. Last week's panic is gone, Bring It....

Today, under the heading of "things that suck a little bit"

I accidentally sliced my right index finger clean open this afternoon. through some creative and dramatic flailing I managed to flick blood over about a 2 metre area around me, which was funny and made up for the irritating sting of typing later in the evening.

I bought Breaking Dawn. I think this is the first time I've paid for one of these books and it makes me uncomfortably aware that, as lame and awful as I think they are, I am totally hooked. I haven't started it yet because I'm still re reading Eclipse to try and remind myself what happens, beyond pining and sparkly vampires. I expect much much more of the same though.

I canceled my weekend at The Croissant Neuf Summer Party" because it would have taken me almost 8 hours to get to the site (how!?) and I need those 4 days to write. I'm gutted because it will be an awesome weekend, so if you love good messy fun and have a free weekend and time to get to South Wales, go check it out.

No Sidekick! I knew their claim at 6pm on Tuesday to have it with me by 9am Wednesday was a bit too optimistic.

Oh and a not very attractive at all person gave me their number, then stuck around, refusing to take no for an answer, for so long that eventually I had to tell him I was not interested because he was wearing a polyester tie.

moral conundrum - Is it wrong to go to a particular band's next UK dates for the sole reason of chewing them out for being assholes and slagging off your favourite bands? and if it isn't wrong, is it acceptable to get guest-listed for that sort of thing, or should I at least buy a ticket to offset all the yelling? Regular readers will know the who and why behind this...

i have had a fucking busy day:
3500 words written, no plan.
emailed agent with draft, got back revisions, revised and emailed back
spoke to ex-publishers about contact details for a commissioning editor we want in the auction. received, passed on to agent
planned then canceled trip to US for Panic in favour of buying a new Macbook
spoke to Warner about street teaming whole TAI tour and a couple of Gym Class dates, also secured advance copy of Barrington High
Found out Something Secret about Panic at the Disco
ordered new Sidekick

and it's only 6pm! I have the whole night ahead of me to read Stephenie Meyers books carry on writing and do my laundry

but first. i should eat, because i haven't done that yet.
2nd-Jun-2008 01:12 am - Cobra Starship tour photos
Gabe
The Cobra Starship tour is over and boy did I have fun! They really are the nicest guys to hang out with and get good and wasted. Apart from tequilas with Alex and sambucas with Gabe, dancing with Broadway Calls to Paramore (sorry boys, did I just shoot your 'punk rock credibility' to shit?) and ending up in too many soundchecks by accident, I also took about 600 photos and some of them are pretty damn good.

you can' check them out on my Flickr here and here

This one's my favourite though:

... and I turn you on, turn you up 'til my ears bleed and the tears burn, squeezing fists tight in creased sheets. I press face down scream into salt damp pillows 'til my breath shakes and you sing and sing while i fall apart, and i know that no matter what, no matter when, your band will always be my friend.
